CENTER SPOT

The spot located in the exact center of the table between the two middle pockets

CORNER HOOKED

When the corner of a pocket holds the player from shooting the cue ball directly towards an object ball. See also angled

CUE

The tapered stick used to strike the cue ball in snooker and billiard games

CUE BALL

The white, unumbered ball that has to be first stroke by the player´s cue

CUE BALL IN HAND WITHIN THE HALF CIRCLE

if a player pots the cue ball or forces it off the table, his opponents gets the cue ball in hand within the half circle in which the cue ball can be placed anywhere on the table within or on the half circle i.e the D

CUE TIP

The fabric or leather covered material attached to the shaft end of the cue; the only part of the cue allowed to contact the cue ball during a shot

CUSHION

The rubber covered with cloth borders the inside of the rails on snooker and pool tables
