LAG FOR BREAK

The course of action taken to select the player who will commence the game; usually the player who shoots the ball closest to the head cushion

LOSING HAZARD

When the cue ball sinks into a pocket as a result of a contact with an object ball. See also winning hazard

LOT

Same as lag for break, except it does not involve any billiard skills but procedures such as drawing pills, flipping coins, etc.
