SAFETY

A defensive strategy in which a player leaves the table in a position that would make it difficult for his opponent to score

SHAFT

The thinner end of the cue

SHOT

The course of action that starts from the moment the cue tip touches the cue ball until all the balls on the table are motionless

SNOOKERED

When the incoming player´s cue ball is placed in a position where it is difficult to shoot directly because balls stand in the way to the ball on

STRIKER

The player who intends to shoot before completing his inning

STROKE

The movement of the cue during a shot
